A few years back I wrote a piece on the ridiculous annual occurence that is 'Black Friday'. In the article I jokingly projected that in a few years time the sale madness would lead to mid-evil style battles to the death between store employees and shoppers. Sadly it came true yesterday when a Long Island Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death by shoppers who broke down the door and stampeded into the store. The truly sickening part was the reaction of the shoppers during the trampling and after the announcement of the death. First, not one single shopper tried to help the man being trampled and actually they injured other employees who were coming to his aid. Second, when the store announced they would be closing for a few hours because of the death the shopper reaction was near riotous. The shoppers were pissed?! To anyone at that store yesterday who participated in this madness and acted as though this employees' death was an inconvenience: Go F*ck Yourselves! I can only hope the items you killed to save on maim you in unexpected ways.
